"Allahu Akbar (Song for Iran)" is a song for peace, justice, hope, solidarity and, most importantly, love. My song pays tribute to the "fallen in Tehran". After a couple of days, the demonstrations turned violent as the government stepped in and cracked down, threatening the people with punishment, including death. Initially, they protested, enjoying the very right to protest as the government watched passively. Ahmadinejad, the conservative candidate, allegedly won the election, but protesters believed the electoral process was fraud, believing that the election was rigged. Mousavi, a more liberal candidate, believed in helping the poor, opening ties up to the West and relaxing the rigorous social conventions. The demonstrators sang "God Is Great" from their roofs as they tried to encourage a "Free Iran". Protesters clashed with the conservative government in Iran, charging fraud in their recent election. A tribute song for all those in the struggle.
